How much money will this save me on glitter?
Regular (plastic) glitter cost more than a $1 per oz, even at Wal-mart. If you used a $2 per gallon ziplock bag of thrift store ornaments, homemade glass glitter would cost roughly $0.33 per oz. If you just saved old broken ornaments, you can get glitter for free. You also save some time with less smashing of unbroken ornaments.
Hard to say exactly how much this will save you, as I don't know how much glitter you use. It will save you 66% per oz, so if you use a lot of glitter, the savings will be bigger. Happy Crafting!
I would never have thought of using old ornaments to make glitter; what a fun idea. Thanks for sharing with us at Love to Learn; Pinned.

ReplyDeleteThis seems like a great idea, but how sharp are those tiny fragments? I don't want to inadvertently create a tiny weapon.
