Welcome to the third month of the Eco-Friendly Saver Side Hustle Report. These posts detail all of the income my husband and I earned from side hustling using sharing economy and gig economy apps.
We were in the midst of unpacking, restarting homeschooling, and decluttering. Even though we were keeping busy, we still side hustled! Here is the side hustle report for April's income.
Side Hustle Income for April 2019
- Control SMS App : $3.60
- S'More Lockscreen App: $3.20 Amazon Gift card
- Swagbucks: $25
- Postmates Delivery app: $17
- Rover dog care: $24
Total Side Hustle Income for April 2019 = $72.80
Since this was our third-month doing focused side hustling, we only made a little bit of cash. However, we managed to bring in a little more than $72 from side hustling during the month. It brings some comfort to know that, we can bring in some cash without a job. Below is a more detailed breakdown of our side hustle income for the month.
Control SMS App : $3.60
I get paid for receiving texts on my android phone. Telintel developed a testing network to verify that text messages are being received. I downloaded the free app and I receive texts over data or WiFi. I get paid on the 1st of the month via Paypal.
Smore App: $3.20 Amazon Gift card
S'more is a lock screen app, where you get points to unlock your phone. Maximize your smartphone's wasted screensaver space and earn money just by adding ads to unlocking your phone as you normally do. You just swipe past them and earn cash. I cash out my points in Amazon gift cards. You can get $1 in Amazon or other gift cards every 10 days. If you download S'more using this link or if you use my referral code JCSZA4, you get 25 points!
Swagbucks: $25
The easiest way to use Swagbucks is as your search engine, which is mainly how I use it. Simply type in your search into the search bar, just like you would in Google, and earn surprise SB. I use the Google Chrome extension, which converts all of my Google searches into Swagbucks searches automatically.
I also print coupons off from Swagbucks to earn extra points, mainly for grocery shopping. If you print and use 45 coupons per month from Swagbucks, you will have enough to earn a $5.00 gift card! I also earn SB by taking their Daily Polls. They don't pay you much, but by taking 2 seconds of your day, you will earn 1 SB. You can find the daily polls under ‘Answer' on the top menu bar. Then click on Daily Polls.
I use the Swagbucks video app for free on my phone. I watch videos in the background throughout your day, but I do have to click next sometimes to keep earning. You can earn an additional 50 SB per day by watching videos through the app.
If you have never joined Swagbucks before, you can sign up and earn 30 SB immediately!
Dog Care with Rover: $24
I like getting paid for things I'm already doing or that don't require much extra effort, like dog care. I get paid for doggy daycare, boarding dogs, walking dogs, or just stopping by to check on them. This is also a great way for UG1 to start earning money, as she gets paid to pooper scoop.
Rover’s calendar allows you to mark your available days and hours, so you’ll field requests only for times you can work. For me, since I'm home about 99% of the time, I keep my schedule open to have dogs every day. I'm able to decide on each request that I receive if the dogs are a good fit with our kids and lifestyle.
My first Rover month was rather unimpressive, as I don't have many reviews yet due to being new to the platform. I did get one dog boarding for a family of two dogs who were very laid back and used to little kids.
Postmates Delivery app: $17.00
A lot of people think there isn’t money to be made in deliveries, but Mr. Greenie's experience has been totally different. There is money to be made with doing deliveries, especially if you’re only doing deliveries during lunch and dinner hours. Mr. Greenie had work start picking up in March and wasn't able to side hustle much. This is akin to getting a pizza delivery job, but you decide when you work by turning on the app. Great for someone who enjoys driving as much as Mr. Greenie does.
And that concludes the April 2019 Side Hustle Report!
I hope this post was helpful to you and gives you some ideas on how you can make a little extra income by getting paid to live your life. Hopefully, these types of posts give you some ideas.
