Sickness...No eggs...
Well, we're down one rooster as of a couple of weeks ago. He got sick and my husband put him down. Oddly enough, one of our supposed hens from the deceased rooster's cage ended up being a rooster. So, we have 6 quail, two roosters with two hens each. Nobody's laying, but the boys are sure crowing!
Gardening...Worms Kinda Makes It Better
Our worm bin is working well, we're seeing some black gold already and the food scraps are starting to slowly be eaten more quickly. Our furnace went down last week and the light heating the sprouts burnt out the same time. My 2 yr old and I replanted the peppers and onions two days ago. If they don't turn out, our community is having a plant sale to fill out our harvest this year.
Here's to future eggs, worm black gold, and an awesome gardening year!
